WSO continues its 59th Season with a program of Romantic works by Borodin, Smetana, Elgar, and Dvorak. This event will be presented by the 60+ member symphony, led by Music Director CATHERINE GAGNON, and will feature Artist-Educator Amanda Santo - soprano. This performance offered at Warwick City Hall - Council Chambers is fully accessible to all audiences and parking is plentiful at City Hall, surrounding lots, and on-street.
The program will include:
Vltava “The Moldau” - Smetana
Songs My Mother Taught Me Op. 55, No. 4 - Dvorak
Serenade for Strings (Larghetto) - Elgar
Polovtsian Dances from “Prince Igor” No. 8 & 17 - Borodin
Featured Artist-Educator: AMANDA SANTO
Amanda Santo is a voice teacher, choral director, music educator, and performer. She directs the award-winning choral program at Cumberland High School. Ms. Santo holds a Master’s degree from The Hartt School of Music, a Certificate in Vocal Performance from the University of Connecticut, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, magna cum laude, from Rhode Island College where she was named Outstanding Music Graduate. She has served on the faculties of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School and the Community College of Rhode Island and will join the faculty of the New England Music Camp during the summer of 2026. As a soloist, she has performed choral-orchestral works throughout New England and has appeared with Opera Providence, Salt Marsh Opera, Connecticut Concert Opera, Hartford Opera Theater, and the Ana Livia Opera Festival in Dublin, Ireland. She is deeply committed to music education and to fostering excellence, collaboration, and artistry in young musicians.
Concert Admission: Suggested Donations at-the-door: $15-$20 per person with children 12 and under FREE
Parking free onsite / fully accessible performance
This activity is made possible in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
