May Day marks the transition from spring to summer and has deep historical roots. Originating in ancient Roman celebrations honoring Flora, the goddess of flowers, the festival continues as a symbol of fertility, renewal, and the interconnectedness of nature and community. Participants will enjoy crafting beautiful flower crowns, dancing around the Maypole, singing, and a picnic on our great lawn. A joyous celebration of spring, the May Faire is a beloved tradition at The Waldorf School of Mendocino County. Families and community members are invited to join us in making flower garlands, singing songs, and dancing. This annual event embraces the ancient traditions of May Day, welcoming the warmer days ahead and honoring the beauty of nature’s renewal.
