Writing: Tell Your Story
This generative workshop offers an opportunity to get started (or started again) on writing YOUR story.
During this 6 week series, we will write in response to prompts and exercises. In sharing and discussing this work with the group, we will begin to discover our own creative paths. We will also examine published authors’ use of such strategies as dialogue, scene and character development, and voice. Understanding these literary tools will help us craft our own engaging narratives.
Writers of all skill levels are welcome.
About the instructor:
Rhonda Zangwill is a longtime teacher, mentor, coach and cheerleader for creative writers and storytellers. She has led workshops for more than 20 years at 14Y, NY Writers Coalition, Teachers & Writers Collaborative, Girls Write Now, The Anne Frank Center, Sirovich and The Moth. She is published both in print and online in such places as Calyx, Natural Bridge, Hoi Polloi, Arcade of the Scribes, The Boston Globe, Common Unity and The Rainbow Project. She is very proud to have been nominated for a Pushcart Prize last year. Among her addictions are Veselka, aqua aerobics and Wordle. She serves on the board of Writers Read.
