Writing New Orleans: Sense of Place in a Unique Space
Though many writers seek sustenance from the Crescent City, few dare to cast it as setting in their books. Learn the key strategies you must consider and the tactics to make it happen. Come to think, discuss, be challenged, and to do some writing.
Bio & Praise:
Michael Allen Zell is a New Orleans-based novelist, screenwriter, journalist, and playwright. He is best known for his crime fiction series featuring Bobby Delery, a Tulane University Criminology professor, who is forced to right wrongs on the streets of New Orleans. Zell’s most recent novel is The Last Shadow, a story of 3 people, 2 paths, and 1 book that guides the way.
"With an incredible eye for the nuances of New Orleans, America's most interesting city, Michael Allen Zell presents crime fiction with verve, grit, and tenderness. The characters in The Last Shadow are people I've known from a distance. Zell's talent allows readers to have access to the hidden dreams and terrors of their lives."
