The Writing Intensive Curriculum (WIC) Program is pleased to invite faculty to participate in the Spring 2025 WIC Seminar Program. The WIC Seminar Program is a series of Zoom or hyflex workshops that prepares instructors to teach W-I, W-II, and W-III classes and qualifies them to participate in the Course Embedded Tutor Program (CETP*) (which is offered every semester). Faculty will receive $300 to attend a three-hour February workshop in addition to at least two other 1-1.5 hour workshops offered in the Spring semester during community time (which are also open to all faculty across the institituion). The workshops are listed below. Please direct any questions to WIC Coordinator, Tanya Rodrigue at [email protected].
This foundational Zoom workshop takes place on Monday, Feb. 3rd, from 11:30-2:30 and the description is below. I will send a Zoom link closer to the workshop date.
Writing Instruction in General Education Courses at SSU
In this workshop, Professor Rodrigue will introduce faculty to the vertical model of writing instruction in the General Education curriculum, and the ways the W-I, W-II, and W-III classes work independently and together to support SSU students in their growth as writers. Faculty will learn the four principles that inform the model: writing matters; writing is a means to learn; writing is a means to communicate; and writing is a process. Faculty will leave the workshop with strategies and activities for infusing these principles into their pedagogy and classroom. Please RSVP to the WIC Seminar Program in general here.
Now, choose and RSVP (by clicking on the link) to at least two other workshops from the list below to complete the WIC Seminar Program. (These workshops are hy-flex and will also be open to all faculty at the institution (not just WIC Seminar Program participants)).
