About this Event
Writing By Instinct: Reawakening the Wild Self (Summer Series)
“Within every woman, there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing.”—Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Women Who Run With the Wolves
Our community has been buried under layers of electronic messages that have dulled our instincts and disconnected us from ourselves and each other. This 6-week series is designed to reawaken the inner knowing through writing, play, creativity, and connection.
In this program, we will reconnect to our wild-women selves, reawaken our instincts, and realign our bodies to the natural cycles of life. We will use writing and art as the language of the wild self, developing a deeper knowing about the stories we carry, and naming what we have found along the way.
Week 1-2: Grounding and awakening the instinctual self
Week 3: Using art as the language of the wild self using Ouisi nature cards
Week 4 -5: Learning and trusting cycles; inheritance, deep knowing about the stories we carry. Bring a sacred artifact from your life or a picture from when you were young to put on the alter.
Week 6: We'll return to beginnings and name what we have found: ”The wild self was never lost, only misplaced.”
This circle is for any woman looking to restart or continue their writing practice. Teachers and educators especially invited during this summer season. Activities will include reading, writing, reflective conversation, and deep listening.
Bring a notebook, an open mind, and your words.
