In 1958, we Americans first chose to officially honor the rule of law as a key principle of our system of government, when May 1 was proclaimed the first “Law Day” by President Eisenhower (Presidential Proclamation 3221). In 2026, we in McPherson, Kansas, are choosing to re-dedicate that day, with a theme of “The Rule of Law: If you can keep it.”McPherson community partners are developing activities and media for a variety of audiences, including high school and college students, and the general public.
Join Julia Kuttler, Associate Professor of Communication at McPherson College in a conversation about the law and the free press with three local journalists: Clay Wirestone of The Kansas Reflector, Greg Loving of The Citizen Journal, and Kaycee Carter of The Spectator.
This is a free and public event! A time for questions will be available.
The event is in Mingenback Theatre at McPherson College.
