Wren, Rebuilding and the Great Fire of London - KS1 Education Visit
About this Event

Over four nights, 17th-century London burned, and the city was forever transformed. "Wren, Rebuilding, and The Great Fire of London" offers an inspirational day of learning for your class, featuring hands-on activities, storytelling, visits, and a guided walk. This experience will help students see their city with fresh perspectives and new skills.

Children will delve into the Great Fire, one of the most pivotal events in London's history. As budding architectural detectives, they will explore Sir Christopher Wren's monumental task of rebuilding London from the ashes and reflect on his lasting influence on their local surroundings and the city's skyline today.

During the visit, students will walk in Wren's footsteps, gaining insights into his dual genius as both scientist and architect. They will discover his remarkable achievements and explore the 17th-century churches, buildings, and monuments he designed. This immersive experience will bring history to life and deepen their understanding of Wren's enduring legacy.

Sessions are available Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 10am to 2pm. We offer sessions to just two groups per day – either from one school or two different schools. Maximum of 30 per group.

Your group will visit the historic church of St Martin Ludgate and Temple Bar.
