Join us at Wren Ave. to prepare the garden for a new stump circle for students!
About the Garden: The Wren Avenue garden is a beautiful, spacious, and colorful outdoor classroom the students enjoy during the day. Full of herbs and other edible plants, the garden hosts Growing Healthy Kids Garden Class, serving all grade levels over the course of the year. Students know the garden as a place they can come to gather herbs and flavor their water. The garden is a cared for Growing Healthy Kids staff, Garden Educator , community members, and students.
About Growing Healthy Kids: Growing Healthy Kids is a community-based nonprofit that’s proud to make garden class and other outdoor education and farm-to-school programs possible in MDUSD. Growing Healthy Kids operates garden class at 22 elementary schools in MDUSD, serving over 12,000 students, including 9 schools in Concord.
Help needed: At this work day, volunteers will:
- Prepare the garden for Spring
- Help clear the way for the new stump circle
Languages Spoken: Event staff speaks English & Spanish.
Accessibility: There will be access to shade, water, and a bathroom.
You should Bring: Bring Garden gloves if you have them! For your comfort, please bring a water bottle, hat, and/or sunscreen.
