We will hold an honor ceremony at 11am in the cemetery chapel on the hill. It will be live streamed on this Facebook page and posted on You Tube soon afterwards so that everyone does not have to be in the chapel area to see and hear. Friends and family who have paid for a grave specific wreath may place those wreaths between 9am -10:30am. ALL WREATHS IN THE GENERAL STACKS WILL NOT BE PLACED UNTIL AFTER THE CEREMONY. These wreaths have been counted for that individual section, so please do not take to other locations or remove from the cemetery.
DESIGNATED WREATHS:
Every year family members purchase a wreath for their love one and designated for them to place it themselves. All family can arrive early and place before ceremony. Only those families can do so. There was a confusion last year because some families purchased for both veteran and spouse. They are the only headstones that will have two wreaths(front and back) The rest of the headstones in the cemetery will have one for the front veteran name on headstone ONLY . Please do not place one on backside. Last year there was a confusion and wreaths were placed on both sides which in turn made more work after cemetery for volunteers.
You may park anywhere along the roadways within the cemetery. Please pay attention to keep vehicles off the roadside grass. We ask that volunteers give each veteran the same amount of respect. Please say their name out loud and thank them for their service. Place with the bow at the top of the wreath and straighten the ribbons. ***Please teach our younger children the proper way to place a wreath.*** We are NOT just decorating the cemetery; we are showing honor, so please don't rush to get done.
Thank you for participating in this program for our fallen veterans to REMEMBER, HONOR AND TEACH.
