Wreaths Across America at Arlington National CemeterySaturday, December 13 | 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Hosted by St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Sterling VA
Join us for a meaningful morning of service as we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. On National Wreaths Across America Day, volunteers across the nation place wreaths on the graves of veterans as an act of remembrance and gratitude.
📅 Schedule
7:00 AM — Meet at Wiehle–Reston East Metro Station
We’ll catch the first Silver Line train together to arrive at Arlington together. This ensures we can pass through security and take part in the opening activities.
8:00 AM – 11:30 AM — Wreath Laying
We’ll spend the morning placing wreaths throughout Arlington National Cemetery. If time and weather allow, we may also stop by the Kennedy Gravesite or the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM — Departure
In past years, groups have grabbed breakfast together afterward (usually McDonald's), but we play it by ear based on timing and weather.

This is a powerful, hands-on way to honor veterans, teach younger generations about service and sacrifice, and experience the beauty and solemnity of Arlington during the holiday season. Families, teens, and individuals are all welcome.

Meet at the fare gates by 7:00 AM

Expect large crowds and security lines.
Dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes.
