About this Event
Styled by Angela and Mahika are coming together for this intimate, community centered event to spotlight Asian culture through fashion, style, and artistry. They will be sharing their stories around how their cultures helped shape their businesses and craft, as well as, showcasing live demonstrations.
Merlinda, founder of Mahika, will be doing live screen printing and attendees will have the opportunity to get personal hands-on experience to screen print their own take home keepsake with an exclusive design by Mahika. Attendees are invitied to bring an item (tshirt, jacket, tote, etc.) for the screenprinting process. Blank tshirts and merch will also be available for purchase.
Angela will be styling different traditional Vietnamese and Asian garments in a modern way blending old and new fashion styles. She will also be sharing her creative process when putting together looks and offering personalized styling advice that honors the intersections of culture, personal style, and creative expression.
There will also be an area for attendees to craft, collage, and create art that honors their own heritage and story. Supplies will be included.
This event is open to everyone and will be taking place May 24th 1-4pm at Kinship. We look forward to closing out AAPI month on such a beautiful note rooted in community, storytelling, and connections. We hope to see you there!
