Join Make Music Muskogee at Zomac School of Music on Friday, October 3, 2025, for the official celebration day of the worldwide 10th Annual Kids Music Day (actual day is Friday, October 3, 2025, but events throughout the world happen from Friday, September 26, through Sunday, October 12). Make Music Muskogee will have a table at Zomac with some free music items and information about a cool drum contest through the Keep Music Alive organization.
The DRUM ON ANYTHING CHALLENGE helps celebrate the 10th Annual Kids Music Day and the 10th Anniversary of the first Teach Music Week 2015 program. Kids from 1 to 92 are invited to share a short video clip of themselves drumming “on anything with anything.” Keep Music Alive is offering $500 in Amazon Gift Card prizes for the 3 most creative contest entries. Their overall goal is to create a viral campaign that music education non-profits everywhere can utilize to help raise funds and awareness for their programs. No donation or fee is required to enter the contest, and the submission form is simple.

The Keep Music Alive organization first partnered with music schools on October 4, 2015, for the 1st Kids Music Day to promote the importance of including music in children’s education. The celebration is held annually on the first Friday of October. Over 1,000 music schools, stores, organizations, and other businesses or public places hold special events and promotions that benefit and celebrate children playing music. The mission is to spotlight music programs to help raise awareness of how valuable music really is to our children and our collective future.
Kids Music Day is celebrated worldwide each year on the first Friday in October. Keep Music Alive partners with music schools, stores, and other music organizations around the world to help focus attention on the importance of including music as part of children's education.
