World's Largest Pizza Costume Party!

In 2025, New Haven broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for Largest Pizza Party also featured in front of 14 million viewers on 60 Minutes. For 2026, New Haven is looking to break another record. Again it includes 5000 people and it's pizza themed, but this time it will be one of the most stunning spectacles ever seen on The Green. Last year we asked people to eat the pizza, but this year we want you to BE the pizza.

While we will outline some of the rules and details about this event in our FAQ, here are a few major aspects to follow. Each participant will be receiving a custom designed pizza slice costume which they can keep and even use as a Halloween costume! We will be assembling all participants into 50 groups of 100 along with a steward who will witness each participant in costume. Before and after you can roam around the free entry A-1 Toyota Apizza Feast where there are dozens of pizza vendors, food trucks, crafts, music, entertainment, bikes races, beer and wine gardens and more!

IMPORTANT: ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST STAY IN FESTIVAL AREA UNTIL 7PM. We strongly advise all participants to arrive starting at 4pm since we expect the largest number of people to arrive between 5:30-6:30pm. This will allow participants to have more time in show your tickets, grab your costume and assemble in the record attempt area. We ask that each participant stay here until we finish the count at 7pm. At 7:30 pm we will announce that the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS attempt has been successful with a sea of 5000 people all dressed as pizza slices! All the while the A-1 Toyota Apizza Feast will be free entry to the public. We invite all participants to stay and enjoy throughout the evening, which goes to 10pm.
