One of the hottest Latin dance bands of NYC. Opening Act: DC's Leon City Sounds
About this Event

Cheo y Los Consentidos de la Casa is one of the best Latin funk & salsa band in New York City, produced and fronted by Latin Grammy winner Cheo Pardo (Los Amigos Invisibles). The band serves as the house band for a bi-weekly Latin throwdown at the legendary Nublu nightclub in NYC. Born from a love of vintage Latin soul and the raw energy of NYC’s dance floors, Cheo assembled an all-star crew of the city’s hottest Latin players to cook up a high-octane blend of salsa, boogaloo, cha-cha-cha, and bolero — all filtered through wah-wah pedals, space echoes, fuzzy guitar solos, and a deep, unshakable groove. The result? A psychedelic, percussive party that’s equal parts tradition and funked-out future. The band features Neil Ochoa (congas), Ruben Coca (timbales), José Benjamin (keys), Dan Martínez (bass), Fernando Garcia (bongos), Leo Gruber (vocals), and Cheo himself on guitar — a tight, fearless unit on a mission to put the funk in the salsa and the swing in the soul. This isn’t your abuela’s salsa night — this is CHEO Y LOS CONSENTIDOS DE LA CASA. Funk-forward. Rhythm-obsessed. 100% dance floor approved.

Opening act Leon City Sounds is a Washington, D.C.-based DJ duo made up of married couple Claudia A. and Charles Lawrence, who are known for spinning a mix of genres, primarily Latin American styles like cumbia, chicha, and salsa, on vinyl in Washington DC for over 10 years. They also incorporate other genres such as reggae, ska, punk, and psychedelic surf rock into their sets. The duo hosts regular parties like “Tropical Beat” and “Tropical Heat Dome” and plays at various venues and events across the city.  They have done DJ nights in Lima, Peru and Bogota, Colombia, Brooklyn, Mami, Baltimore, Philly and Chicago.
