About this Event

Join the Canadian International Council Halifax (CIC Halifax) and the WUSC SMU Committee for an Evening Talk and Reaction Panel with CEO Steve Mason and a moderated panel of WUSC program alumni and supporters. Our event will provide an introduction to, and review of, the challenges and opportunities of international development assistance for youth through educational programs and post-secondary aid programs organized by WUSC and aimed at overcoming inequality and exclusion in over 15 countries around the world.

Keynote Speaker:

Our special guest is Steve Mason, the newly-appointed CEO, of World University Services Canada, Ottawa, Canada, and a leading voice in support of international programs in support of youth to overcome inequality and inclusion in countries around the world.


A visionary leader with 20 years of experience in global development, Steve is well known for developing and delivering high-impact programs, building diverse and inclusive teams, and fostering collaborative partnerships. As the Regional Director for the Aga Khan Foundation in North America (Programs and Partnerships), he provided strategic direction and the Foundation’s institutional partnerships in Canada and the US and oversaw a multi-sectoral program portfolio in Africa and Asia. People, culture, and partnerships thrive under his leadership.

Tickets: $10.00 per person and Free for Students. All proceeds go to WUSC Youth Programs
