Celebrate migratory birds and their remarkable journeys. Join Environment for the Americas for this free community event at Walden Ponds in Boulder, Colorado, a great location for both local and migratory birds.
This year’s celebration includes additional activities on Friday, May 15 and Sunday, May 17.
This event welcomes everyone. Whether you are an experienced birder, a nature enthusiast, or a beginner with curious kids or adults, there are activities for all ages and interests.
Take part in guided bird walks in English and Spanish, explore hands-on education stations, view birds of prey up close, and join expert-led birding field trips.
World Migratory Bird Day is a global celebration that highlights the journeys birds make each year across continents and flyways. Join us for bird trivia, prize giveaways, and a chance to meet the Environment for the Americas team and local educators. This event launches the weekend celebration of World Migratory Bird Day.

World Migratory Bird Day at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat
3893 N 75th St, Boulder, CO 80301
7:30 am–12:30 pm
Bird walks begin at 7:30 am and run every 30 minutes. Education stations open at 9:00 am. Visitors can also take part in a prize giveaway sweepstakes supporting World Migratory Bird Day programs in Latin America.
Sunday, May 17
Birding Field Trips
Registration required
