The World's Largest Rubber Duck is making headlines-and it's coming to Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater. Recently featured in the Tampa Bay Newspapers, the 61-foot-tall installation known as"Mama Duck" will anchor a 17-day event series from
Jan. 10-26.
Event organizer and Arts & Cultural Affairs Manager Amber Brice summed up the appeal: "Some people won't get it. Some people will think it's funny, some people will think it's stupid, but they will be talking about the duck."
The Downtown Development Board (DDB) approved funding to support the installation and its related programming. Throughout its stay, the duck will serve as the backdrop for markets, concerts, family events, and nighttime illumination along the waterfront.
