About this Event
To celebrate World Book Day, we’re planning a playful afternoon of stories, outdoor adventure and creativity, inspired by birds and nature.
This event is open to all, with activities aimed at primary school–aged children.
We’ll begin with a nature-inspired storytime, reading children’s books all about birds.
Then we’ll head out on a mini nature adventure to a local park to see what birds we can spot in real life using binoculars, undertaking a bird scavenger hunt, and listening out for birdsong. We’ll even have a go at identifying birds by their calls with the help of the Merlin app.
After our adventure, we’ll return for a creative session, where children can write songs, draw pictures, or create artwork inspired by the birds and nature they’ve seen and heard.
✨ World Book Day costumes are very welcome (but optional!) ✨
