About this Event
Join the Coral Gables Museum for an evening with acclaimed artist and illustrator Edel Rodriguez, whose work examines themes of freedom, identity, and resilience. Drawing from his memoir Worm: A Cuban American Odyssey, Rodriguez reflects on his personal journey from leaving Cuba during the Mariel Boatlift to establishing an international career in visual storytelling.
Through a combination of storytelling, visual material, and conversation, this workshop explores how memory, lived experience, and historical context inform creative practice. Original artwork and source materials from Worm provide insight into Rodriguez’s artistic process and the development of his distinctive visual language.
This workshop is presented as part of the public programs accompanying the exhibition Worm: A Cuban American Odyssey, currently on view at the Museum through January 25, 2026.
