Please join us for a workshop with historian and archivist Antonio Sanchez de Mora, head of reference services, at Archivo General de Indias (Archive of the Indies), one of the most important colonial archives in the world.
Scholars and artists with interests in topics such as Indigenous, African and Afro-Creole histories, the connections between Spain, Louisiana, and the Phillipines, and global envioronmental histories will find routes into important primary source documents, maps, and drawings.
The workshop is open to historians, archivists, genealogists, and community members interested in learning how to navigate Louisiana history using online databases such as Portal de Archivos EspaƱoles (PARES), digital images, and on-site research in Sevilla, Spain.
