About this Event
Workshop: Moving to San Francisco as a Family - Thursday, May 28
Join us on Thursday, May 28, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, for a friendly and practical workshop in French with Maxime, a French expat living in San Francisco since August 2025 and the creator of the Instagram account @lafemmedexpat.
Through her personal experience of moving to the Bay Area with her family, Maxime will share useful advice to help newcomers better prepare for life in San Francisco.
This workshop is designed for anyone preparing for an expatriation, recently arrived in San Francisco, or simply looking for practical tips to better navigate daily life in the Bay Area.
- Prepare your move from France (join Facebook groups for French expats in SF, research schools, decide what to pack, etc.)
- Find housing (where to search, how to apply, typical fees and requirements)
- Childcare and public schools (available preschool subsidies, how the public school lottery system works)
- Driving in San Francisco (license requirements, buying a car, parking rules and tips)
- Grocery shopping (key stores to know, local Facebook groups for secondhand items and giveaways)
See you there!
