Line, Shape and Composition 2-Day
Have you ever wondered what makes a contemporary abstract piece in a gallery, successful and saleable? This class will teach you how to break down abstract art! You will create your own successful art piece using your own unique marks, doodles, your favorite shapes and combining them into a powerful composition. Learn what makes an abstract art piece a WOW!
Thursday, March 19 - 2pm to 4pm
Saturday, March 21 - 2pm to 4pm
(No makeup dates)
What to expect:
Day 1 is about learning to make intuitive expressive marks with different tools, like oil pastel pencil and crayon.
Day 2 is about shapes and finding out what your favorite shapes are and how you can make them in different ways using stencil etc.
All materials will be provided and all levels are welcome.
Instructor Biography:
Jocelyn Chemel was born in South Africa, lived in Boston for over 30 years and has recently moved to Delray Beach. Jocelyn studied design, printmaking and mixed media at the Museum School in Boston. She also taught decorative painting techniques for many years as well as mixed media to adults. Her teaching style allows students to open up their creative flow in a safe non-judgemental environment . She loves seeing artistic expression happen through practices like mandala making, mystical landscape and collage.
