[Workshop] Learning to Lose with Patrick Keene (ASSSSCAT, Duchovny)

Losers are funny. Winners are annoying. In this workshop, we'll focus on owning negative labels and having fun taking on behavior that makes your characters less than desirable. Real people are defensive, but we'll work to lower our defenses in order to maximize our agreement and not fall into the trap of arguing over reality. We'll also have fun finding justifications for these behaviors in ways that doesn't make our characters victims of their circumstances, but people actively choosing to behave the way they do. Like losers.

Pre-Req: Intermediate / Completed 2 levels at any improv theater

Instructor: Patrick Keene

About the Instructor: Patrick Keene is an improviser and filmmaker living in New York City. He currently teaches improv/comedy at NYU's Tisch undergraduate acting program and independently around the city. Patrick trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where he taught and performed on their touring and weekend teams. He can currently be seen performing around town with his team, Duchovny, or his friend, Steven.
