Natalia Blanco Bayón
Classical Dance Teacher, Choreographer and Researcher
Based in Alicante, Spain
Natalia Blanco Bayón is a classical dance teacher and choreographer with a strong background in dance pedagogy and an interdisciplinary approach that brings together music, performance space and body awareness.
Since 2010, she has developed an extensive teaching practice across a range of contexts, including vocational and higher education. She is currently a lecturer at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Alicante. Her pedagogical work focuses on the technical training of classical dance and the teaching of its methodology, combining academic rigour with approaches that encourage creativity and enquiry through movement.
As a choreographer, her work engages with emotional and conceptual themes. A notable project is Semblanzas (2019), a ballet that reflects on motherhood, emotional memory and intergenerational relationships.
Her practice is further informed by her involvement in research projects in contemporary performing arts, as well as her contribution to cultural initiatives connecting dance and research. She is currently the director of the IX National and VI International Congress on Research Dance, to be held in Alicante (6th–8th November 2026), organised by the Spanish Association D+I: Dance and Research, where she also serves as secretary.
