Let's introduce the last dance teacher:
�Falguni Hiren is a multi-faceted artist, who breathes and lives for dance, theatre, music and literature. She holds a Master of Arts in Psychology and is a trained dancer in Indian classical dance-form Odissi. Folk dance has been very close to her heart; which seeded the idea of a dance academy to spread love and allure of Indian folk dance. She founded her Folk Dance Academy ‘SPANDAN’ in the year 1989 at Ahmedabad in Gujarat, India. Her love for her culture, heritage and legacy is endearing and she loves wearing it on her sleeves.
She is attached as a graded Odissi dance artist with Doordarshan - Government of India’s official broadcasting channel. Bringing her expertise of designing a comprehensive curriculum on ‘Garba’ - a Gujarati folk dance form and UNESCO recognised Intangible Cultural Heritage of India, she is an empaneled subject expert with India’s premier design institute National Institute of Fashion Technology-Gandhinagar where she conducts theoretical and practical classes as part of academic calendar for students.
With her dancing group from Spandan she has travelled through 24+ European countries and given over 544 performances in countries like Poland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Hungary, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Turkey, North Cyprus, Spain, Portugal along with USA, England, UAE at various International Folk Dance Festivals. Additionally, she has conducted Folk Dance workshops for children and adults in European schools and in countries like the US and Canada. She was invited by San Jose State University, California, Department of Speech Pathology to deliver a lecture on Indian Culture and Indian Dance Forms.
💃🏻On Sunday, you can enjoy the “Folk Fusion” dance workshop with Falguni from 10:00-11:30 at the Naplno studio, Štěpánská 640/45, Prague 1. We also offer the private classes with Odissi dance style.
