About this Event

WORKSHOP: Deepening Into Your Vision

How often have you envisioned a new world with a better version of yourself at its center, made a commitment towards that vision, then experienced the wrath of the universe – something drastically different from the positive vision that had inspired you. What’s missing from this picture? A meaningful vision is one that comes from deep within. Once realized, you gain a sense of connection to the Universe and yourself, positively impacting all those around you.

Come join us as we go on a soul-searching journey towards your sense of expansiveness and a more complete vision informed by your goals and intuitions – a vision not just of your mind, but one that honor’s your soul’s desire.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

During this interactive workshop, you’ll be guided through various practices to tap into your place of inner wisdom. From that place of higher consciousness you’ll find your vision for yourself, the strengths you possess, places you’re challenged, and the steps you can take to bring this vision to fruition.

From this place, you will have the opportunity to join various practice groups that will help you with keeping yourself accountable for following through with materializing your vision. We know all too well how we feel inspired after a workshop but then life takes over and we let go of the inspiration. We have many different ways you can keep the energy alive and both support And be supported by others from the workshop.

Todd Kerr is the founding editor/publisher of Berkeley Times, a community newspaper serving Berkeley since 2010. He also is a leader of men’s circles. 25 years ago, his deepening journey began with an exploration of his grief stemming from early life traumas and his father’s death in a commercial airline disaster. He attended the first Sword & Scepter men’s workshop (2003) and was one of the instigators of the Tribe of Men (2004), a growth & learning community for men seeking healthy expressions of masculine power. While embracing his grief, Todd realized his profound appreciation for community, especially spaces that welcome authentic expression. Now he is passionate about fostering transformation, which for him begins with recognizing one’s authentic voice.

Since the inception of the Tribe, he has witnessed and actively participated in the transformations of hundreds of men. Even after two decades, his interest in the topic continues to grow. He currently leads Tribe of Men monthly meeting groups, in-person and online; and he instigated the reboot of the Sword & Scepter workshop (2023, 2024) positively impacting the lives of many.

The genesis of Berkeley Times was inspired by the teachings of the late Dr. Kennell Jackson, professor of Afro-American History (and narrative writing) at Stanford University. Jackson was Todd’s mentor and a life-long friend. Before his career in local media, Todd led sales and marketing divisions in the technology and financial services industries. He is the divorced father of two children (now grown) and resident of Berkeley. In capoeira circles, he’s known as Dedicado.

Yaj Rathakrishnan lives and inspires others to live through weaving in the pragmatic and mystical into their daily lives. He guides groups through a connection to the divine with his intuition; reading through the mundane (and necessary) to tease out the spiritual experience we are on so that we may be conscious of it and integrate it into our lives. He is a graduate of the Pathways Institute Mystery School where he has performed Heart, Throat and Third-Eye initiations. An avid practitioner of various spiritual and psychological practices such as meditations, active imagination, voice dialogue, authentic movement, dream work, art therapy, rituals, channeling, archetype work, and altar building, he brings a unique view on consciousness from various spiritual disciplines. Having lived in Malaysia for 20+ years and the United States for 20+ years, he brings a mature balance of Eastern and Western wisdom for a holistic approach to consciousness for the modern spiritual seeker.

He is inspired by Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, and Alan Watts. His point of view considers the inner and outer life as necessary for our growth and wellness. We don't live in a bubble. Most of us have to work and live an open spiritual life at the same time; and that is important. His mission is to teach everyone how to live through our heart-centers by listening to our intuition. He is most passionate about leading people into practices in living their most vibrant life possible by honoring our connection to the divine and succeeding in our daily commitments/responsibilities.
