About this Event
This FREE event is being hosted by Glasgow Community Energy to get involved in community owned energy projects in Easterhouse.
Who is it for?
Community organisations and local people in Easterhouse who are interested in community-owned energy projects, addressing fuel poverty and making our net-zero transition work for local people.
What will it cover?
We held an initial workshop in August where we shared information on relevant work going on in Glasgow and beyond. Since then we have been working with local partners to think about potential projects we can work on together, such as solar panels on local buildings and creating an income for local organisations.
This workshop is an opportunity to get involved in this process, have a say in what happens next, and help make the projects a reality.
The purpose is to:
- Build understanding of what community energy is and how your organisation can play a role
- Provide an update on the mapping of potential solar power projects in Easterhouse
- Get input from local projects and people on sites identified, and explore the potential of working together to develop sites
- Provide information and guidance to organisations on how to progress renewables projects on their buildings or land
Practicalites
Tea and coffee will be provided. We'll be staying around for a chat at the end of the workshop.
We are also able to cover reasonable travel expenses within Glasgow for attending the event - please email [email protected] to arrange this.
Childcare is possible but please indicate on the registration form if it is required.
