ULYSSES JOURNEYS FOR LIVE ELECTRONICS COMPOSING VOL. 1 is a three-day workshop for composers who want to learn about composing for performers with live electronics. Organized by the Estonian Centre of Contemporary Music (ECCM) and led by Studio Tallinn 1965, Erica Synths and the ensemble EMA, the workshop invites both composers with previous experience and those new to the field.Live electronics has become an essential tool in contemporary music, yet composing for live electronic performers and ensembles is still relatively uncommon in classical composition practice. This workshop introduces key concepts and practical approaches, including live electronic instruments, sound design, notation for electronic performance, technical setups and mapping, as well as methods for synchronizing performers in real time.
