Join us for a West Coast Swing Workshop and Dance Party!It's officially February now, which means we only have 11 months of WCS left in 2026! Luckily that means there's roughly the same number of monthly workshops and parties ahead of us, starting on the 21st! ?
This year Raechel and Shanon will be teaching a 3-workshop series on dancing to different genres of music, spread throughout the year. They'll be covering techniques that are specific to or emphasized in each genre, styling options and variations, and covering some short choreography to help get a taste for each of them. We'll be kicking this series off with everyone's favorite genre: Blues.

Blues is a foundational element of WCS dancing. It doesn't get played as often now as it did in the late middle-ages when R&S started dancing, but it's used in competition as a way to test dancers so if you're interested in entering any of the wonderful events on offer this year (Swingvasion is just around the corner and you should definitely register for that one hint hint) then it might be worth picking up a few tips and tricks to make you look like you know what you're doing.
So if you'd like to avoid freaking out whenever blues music starts playing, are looking for more ideas to spice up your footwork, appreciate a bit of what the kids today (OK - Millennials) call old-school dancing, or you're just looking for a new challenge....... sign up for the workshop on the 21st, join us for dinner, and stay for the party (and party snacks)!
This workshop is for Level 2 and above, not suitable for Level 1 or brand-new beginners. (But the PARTY is open to everyone!)
