Join us for Works in Progress VII, a celebration of contemporary dance and the creative minds of Austin and beyond at First Street Studio.As we prepare for our exciting transition to East Side Performing Arts, we invite you to be part of the final Works in Progress event at our current location. This two-night showcase features a diverse lineup of performances, offering a unique opportunity to experience the creative process firsthand.
Event Schedule:
July 26, Program A: Experience a series of concise, poignant pieces that capture powerful narratives and fleeting moments. After the performances, engage in a 'community campfire chat' curated by Ty Graynor, where artists and audience members come together to share reflections and insights. The evening will feature artists including Nicolette Dvorsky & Cellise Brown, ET, Katherine Lain, Grace Reagan, Aliyah Banerjee, Sam Mandelbaum, Christy Mitchell, and more.
July 27, Program B: Immerse yourself in extended performances that offer a deeper look into evolving stories and complex themes. Following the performances, participate in a curated talk-back panel, fostering meaningful discussions about the artistic journey and future directions of the work. Featured artists include Ty Graynor (TY&CO), Allysen Hooks, Jennifer Mabus, Meggie Belisle, Bethany Logan (Wild She Dances), and AJ Garcia-Rameau.
