Creating services, projects, or initiatives with your community rather than simply for them leads to stronger impact and better outcomes!
About this Event

This session introduces practical ways to engage people authentically, using the principles of asset-based community development (ABCD) to focus on the skills, experience, and strengths that already exist within your community.

You’ll explore co-design approaches, reflect on your own role, and learn how to build initiatives that genuinely reflect the needs, ideas, and lived experience of the people you work with.

You’ll walk away with:

  • A clearer understanding of the difference between doing things for and with your community
  • Practical techniques for engagement and co-design grounded in ABCD principles
  • Tools to recognise and mobilise the assets, skills, and experience within your community
  • Ideas for building partnerships and collaborative processes that are inclusive, sustainable, and empowering
