THE EASE OF HANDLING TEST consists of a course of obstacles, replicating those that may be found when working in the countryside. For example, a gate, a bridge and a jump. There are also other more technical obstacles such as the parallel slalom, straight slalom and barrels all of which at Advanced level require the horse and rider to perform flying changes in specific places in order to perform the obstacle correctly. Riders are given a mark out of ten for precision, submission and ease of movement for each obstacle.
As always, for introduction/education purposes, the session can be in-hand and/or ridden.
In 2026 sessions will be 1hr 15min rather than 1hr as per requests to increase time, however any time allotment can be catered for though (45min/60min/90min) so get in touch.
ARENA and OBSTACLE HIRE IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICES.
Prices for 1hr 15min:
£52.50 pp for shared
£37 pp for group of 3
£30 pp for group of 4
Price for 1hr, one to one: £75

About the Coach:
Tina [of Equichanics] is a producer, rider and scholar of the horse. Before leaving Ireland as a young rider she was short listed multiple times for both Irish Showjump and Event teams on home produced ponies and horses.
Following her move to the UK in addition to BS and BE she also competed Endurance and has become a Working Equitation Instructor and Judge.
While in the UK she also achieved her BSc and MSc in Equine Science and Management, and a Post Grad Cert in Education to better support her passion for teaching.
Equichanics combines Tina’s practical experience and her academic qualifications to coach people with their horses at home, run a variety of in-hand & ridden clinics and educational talks/workshops about a wide variety of horse health and training topics.
The cornerstone of Tina’s teaching is facilitating a calm, safe and effective learning environment for both horses and humans which encourages critical thinking about what’s best for both, and how it can be ethically achieved.
