Working Cattle Level 2 builds on skills learned in Introduction to Working Cattle. Riders are assumed to have horses that are comfortable being around cattle. Maintaining the slow, learning pace used in IWC, participants will learn how to understand cattle behavior more deeply and how to control cattle movements. Participants will work in groups and by themselves to move cattle through a series of patterns using their new skills of pressure and release. Participants will also learn how to alley sort cattle, both by themselves and with a partner. Participants will learn to use themselves and their partners rather than relying on walls or fences to move cattle.
This clinic is geared towards participants who would like to deepen their understanding of how to work cattle in a ranch setting, using the methodology of “Slower is Faster”. Participants will work in teams and by themselves through each part of the clinic.
