Work-Related Stress: A Strategic Approach for Managers and Leaders
Welcome to our online full day course which is designed to empower managers and leaders with strategies and toolkits to effectively manage work-related stress. Levels of stress in the workplace are on the rise and if left unaddressed, can cause issues like sickness, absenteeism, retention issues as well as decreasing performance, productivy and morale. A strategic and systematic approach is needed to address work-related stress and this needs to be led by managers and leaders. Therefore this course will provide participants with strategies to develop manager's and leader's abilities to minimise stress and create a culture of health in their workplace. It will explore practical approaches to understanding and navigating stress so that you can take care of both yourself, your team and your organisation.

- Developing a strategic approach for managers and leaders
This course aims to provide the following learning outcomes for participants:
- Understand what work-related stress is, the sources of it and how to develop strategies to manage it.
- Identify your own stress levels and learn practical ways to manage and improve this using self care.
- Learn practical ways on how to manage your team’s stress and develop the ability to notice the signs of it and gain confidence in managing conversations around it.
- Understand what strategies can be used to develop manager’s and leader's capabilities so that they can create healthy cultures within their organisation.
Who is this course for?
This course is for anybody in a management, leadership, supervisory or HR role who wishes to explore what work-related stress is and learn how to manage it in a strategic and practical way.
Approach
This interactive full day programme focuses on educating participants using practical strategies to manage work-related stress. The programme is delivered virtually via zoom and you will receive a certificate of completion. The course is underpinned by leading academic research, and national and international frameworks such as Workpositive, World Health Organisation and the UK Health and Safety Executive Management Standards on Stress.
The course is created and delivered by two passionate professionals in the field, Jennifer Reidy (CFI Training) and Gillian Bane (Well Work 360). They have a unique mix of working extensively with public and private sector organisations and have both completed:
- a masters in Leadership in Workplace Health and Wellbeing from TUS.
- a certificate in Work-Related Stress: Developing Manager Capability from the UK Health and Safety Executive.
