How to Work In Football.


At Work In Football, we host networking events where you can gain insights from industry experts and connect with them afterward to discuss your own journey.


On the 24th of January we will host our next networking event at Fratton Park Stadium in Portsmouth.


Join us for a night of networking with fellow students & industry professionals who will be giving their insight into how to break into this fantastic industry.


You do not have to stay for the whole evening, feel free to stay as long as you please.


The event will consist of various guest speaker panels & open networking rounds.


This gives you a great chance to listen to our expert speakers advice & then network with them afterwards.


In total there will be over 25+ people who work in football at our event on the 24th, including those from Portsmouth , Southampton, Bournemouth & Brighton & Hove Albion.


Use the open networking rounds to have a chat with them & get some advice regarding your own career path.


GUEST SPEAKERS:


Jay Sadler:

Jay started of as an intern at Southampton FC & has worked his way up to become the women's head coach at Portsmouth Football Club, a role he has held for 8 years.Jay has taken the women's team from playing in front of 50 people to over 20,000 at St James Park & guided them to professional football by gaining promotion to the championship last season.

Jay has some fantastic advice for anyone looking to break into football & he knows how to tell a story too!


Brooke Chaplen:
Brooke is at Portsmouth FC as the head of women' football. Brooke was a professional footballer and played for Portsmouth, Chelsea, Everton, Sunderland & Reading. Brooke now heads up the women's football department at Portsmouth & continues the fantastic work the club have done over the past 8 years.


Sam Gisborne:
Sam is academy manager at AFC Bournemouth & made his way from intern to academy manager in 8 years, this is proof that you can also do this just like Sam!

Sam's story is INCREDIBLE & if you want to work in football you can't miss Sam's insights on the 24th of January. He will talk about his own journey & give some great advice for aspiring professionals.

For additional travel options, consider cycling, walking if you’re nearby, or using a taxi service for convenience.


Dress Code:

Wear whatever you want! Some attendees wear club tracksuits & some arrive in smart casual, it is completely up to you!
