From the unknown depths of the literary underground…From the quiet corners of forgotten classrooms...
From the dusty shelves of second-hand bookstores, and the fever dreams of every troubadour with a typewriter...
The Poetry Karaoke Strikes Again!
That’s right, Bournemouth’s most unconventional poetry night is back and there’s still only one rule – you can’t read your own poems!
Instead, come and celebrate the poems you love by the writers that have inspired you in the company of like-minded poetry aficionados. Be passionate. Be receptive. Be enthusiastic. Read your favourites, and maybe discover a few new ones along the way!
Open to experienced performers and beginners alike, this event is ideal for anyone looking to share their appreciation of poetry, showcase their reading style, and build their stage confidence. Five-minute open mic slots (sign up on the night) – read up to three poems (not your own) and be sure to tell us why they move or inspire you.
This is a non-funded, not-for-profit event voluntarily organised to promote creativity and wellbeing in the local community.
Hosted by C.W. Blackburn, Peter John Cooper, and S. Penny Smith.
Thursday 19th March // 7.30pm til 10.30pm (doors open and sign up from 7.00pm)
Free entry // Camden Bar, Westbourne
