Welcome to Words and Stitches of the Nation: Ukrainian Embroidery Kaleidoscope. Join us at the Light House Arts Centre for an evening filled with Ukrainian poems, sounds and colors, showcasing rich cultural heritage and celebrating resiliency of Ukrainian nation. Dive into the world of the literary works of the 19th century Ukrainian poets Taras Shevchenko, Lesya Ukrainka, and Ivan Franko who were part of the intellectual elites laying the foundation of the Ukrainian national consciousness. The concert will feature their poems sung and spoken, weaving the lives and literary works of these writers into a kaleidoscope with patterns and emotions. Immerse yourself in storytelling of the Ukrainian culture through photography of embroidery.
