While the rest of the country prepares for the Fourth of July, we are gathering on July 1st to celebrate a different kind of freedom: the independence we provide for families living with aphasia.By joining us, you provide the "spark" that helps our members regain their voices and gives caregivers the support they need to thrive.
What is Word Play? ✍️
Imagine a high-energy, interactive evening overlooking Tampa Bay with 300 supporters engaged in spirited, team-based crossword competitions and Wordle challenges. It’s a night of laughter, community, and "friendly" competition—all dedicated to raising funds for life-changing aphasia services.

A New View: We’ve moved! Enjoy the stunning Ballroom at the USF St. Petersburg Student Center, overlooking Albert Whitted Airport.
New Partnerships: We are proud to be co-sponsored by the USF Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Big Impact: We’ve raised $400,000 over the last three years—help us make 2026 our most impactful year yet!
