Impress your friends and family with this gravity defying bottle holder. Perfect for display at a festive event, to give as a gift with your favorite bottle of bubbly, or just to pull out as a cool party trick. Use a variety of simple woodworking tools to create a beautiful and unique bottle holder. Each student will make one bottle holder.In this class, you will learn basic wood craft techniques including:
-Using measuring and marking tools
-Using a miter box and hand saw
-Using a table top drill press
-Using a hand-held router
-Sanding with range of sandpaper grits to create a polished finish
-Applying wipe-on Polycrylic finish
Great for beginners! This class is open to all skill levels. Ages 10+. Students under 15 must have a parent/guardian present (no additional cost).
All students must wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair. No long necklaces or loose bracelets as these items may get wrapped up in tools. This is a dusty project so please wear clothes you are comfortable with getting dirty. Anyone who does not adhere to the dress code cannot participate in the class and will not be refunded.
Personal Protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, dust masks, disposable gloves) will be provided.
The bottle holder will be finished with a wipe on Polycrylic that will need to cure overnight. Bottle holders can be picked up a maximum of a week later.
Bottle holders will work with most common festive or bubbly beverage bottles, but may not function with every shape or style out there. Bottle holders are not intended to be washed and are designed for display purposes.
