Ready to create something beautiful with your own two hands? Step up to the lathe and explore the timeless, meditative art of woodturning at the Rocky Mountain Folk School.In this one-day beginner workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of woodturning under the guidance of master woodworker Dennis Fanning, who brings more than 30 years of experience to the craft. The focus of the class will be developing basic tool control while working on several practical projects at the lathe.
Students will create items such as a rolling pin, spatula, and spoons while learning how to shape wood safely and confidently. You’ll also have the opportunity to decorate your finished pieces using a wood burner, adding your own personal design to the items you take home.
