Love to dance? Want to get better at partner and group dancing? Woodstove Music & Arts Festival is presenting a new social dance series to get you moving with your friends and family! This event series will bring in amazing musicians and dance callers from near and far to lead square, contra, ceilidh, honky-tonk and other types of social dances.
The Woodstove Social Dance Series Launch Party will be on March 1st, 2025 at Buchanan Hall.
The event will start out with a Square Dance with Caller One Foot Chop teaching the moves and Western Family Stringband playing the old-time dance tunes.
Then there will be a Two Step Dance Lesson followed by the Whosit Honky-Tonk Band playing your fave western swing and country classics for your dancing pleasure.
This is an inclusive and family-friendly event open to people from all genders and backgrounds.
There will be a bar serving non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks with payment through cash or card.
Tickets are $20, free for ages 12 and under. Tickets available online at ccas.tickit.ca, at Moon's Records (cash only) or at the door.
Schedule of events:
Doors at 8 PM
Square Dance at 8:30 PM
Two-step Lesson at 9:30 PM
Honky-Tonk Dance at 9:45 PM
