This Memorial Day weekend, the Woodstock–New Paltz Art & Crafts Fair returns to the Ulster County Fairgrounds for its 45th year, marking a milestone that few craft shows in the country can claim. What began in 1982 as a grassroots effort by two woodworker brothers has grown into one of the nation’s most respected contemporary craft fairs. Still central to the show are its founding values: fine craftsmanship, human connection, and community.Presented by Quail Hollow Events, the fair showcases hundreds of the country’s most creative small businesses, with a focus on handmade, original work that is carefully curated across over 10 media categories.
More than just a shopping experience, the fair offers enriching features for all generations. Visitors will delight in ongoing craft demonstrations, a variety of small-batch artisanal and prepared-on-site foods and, of course, local wine, beer, and spirits. Live musical performances round out this broad celebration of handmade. This is a family-friendly event, with a complimentary supervised children’s art & crafts tent dedicated to inspiring our youngest makers. Children under 12 are FREE.
