Calling all Iowa and Wisconsin WoodmenLife members ages 55 and up!
Join us for an early dinner at Gilroy’s, followed by a live comedy show starring Nate Bargatze.

***1st: Early Dinner at Gilroy’s***
Where: We’ll meet a Gilroy’s Kitchen – located at 1238 8th St. West Des Moines, IA 50265
Time: 4:00 p.m. CST
About: Plan to arrive between 3:30 & 4 p.m. CST. Dinner will be a pizza, pasta, salad, and dessert bar. Vegetarian items will be available. If you have dietary restrictions, please note this during registration. Dinner and non-alcoholic beverages included.
***2nd: Nate Bargatze’s Stand-Up Comedy Show***
Where: Iowa Events Center located at 730 3rd St, Des Moines, IA 50309
Time: 7 p.m. - We plan on leaving the restaurant by no later than 5:45pm to head to the show.
About: Nate Bargatze is a favorite American stand-up comedian and actor from Old Hickory, Tennessee, frequently hailed as "The Nicest Man in Stand-Up." He is known for his clean, deadpan, and observational comedy style, often focusing on his family, marriage, and every-day, relatable struggles. He solidified his spot as one of the top-grossing comedians in the world, selling out major arenas and breaking numerous attendance records.
Registration: All guests must register online using this Eventbrite page. Tickets will not be held. This will be a popular event and tickets will be on a first-come basis.
Dress Code: Business Casual. We'll take lots of pictures.
Parking: Parking has been pre-paid by WoodmenLife and you will receive your parking pass at dinner, prior to the show.
Show Tickets: Your Community Outreach Advisor, Deidre Snow, will have all show tickets that will be scanned upon arrival to the Iowa Events Center. You will receive your assigned seat at dinner, to keep pairs together by registration. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PRINT ANYTHING AFTER YOU REGISTER ON EVENTBRITE. We’ll get you checked-in at the restaurant.
Very Important: The Iowa Event Center is a cashless venue. They will only accept debit, credit, or gift cards for payment. This is in the event you want to purchase snacks or merchandise.
Mobility: The Iowa Events Center does have elevators for those that may have mobility issues. If you have concerns, please visit their website, click here.
Bag policy at the Iowa Events Center: Guests will be able to carry ONE of the following bags into the venue:
- One bag that is clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and does not exceed 12''x12''x 6''.
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
- Small clutch bags, which CANNOT exceed 4.5"x6.5", with or without a handle or strap.
- All bags within clear plastic bags cannot exceed 4.5"x6.5" in size.
- Exceptions will be made for medical bags.
Please note: Senior Day events are exclusively for our members and their guests that are 55 and older. To all our wonderful “young’uns” who don’t quite meet that criteria yet – we apologize! Just remember, this is one club you’re guaranteed to join someday, and we’ll be ready for you when you do.
