Woodland Computing - Unplugged Algorithms in Nature

Led by Jaqui Sinclair, this half day workshop will explore how computing can come to life outdoors. This engaging, hands-on workshop demonstrates how natural environments can be used to develop computational thinking skills through play.
The wood wide web - become part of a living network and explore how information travels.
Program the forest - create, test and debug real-world algorithms.
Woodland messages - communicate using morse code and patterns.
Binary in nature - build and decode messages using natural materials.
Semaphore signaling - explore visual communication systems in the outdoors.
Tea, coffee and biscuits (BYO mug) will be provided with a suggested donation of £1 to cover expenses.
Wear warm waterproof clothing – we will be outdoors!
Priority will be given to Tayside OWL Group members and wider OWL Scotland group members.
