About this Event
Hello,
My name is Helen McCormick and I'm a local artist and teacher. I've been creating objects from clay for the past 26 years, and I still absolutely love the process. I am passionate about teaching and have created this workshop to share my skills, knowledge and experience with anyone who would like to have a go for the first time or to develop their skills further.
My workshop is designed to be a relaxed friendly space where you can meet new people and have the opportunity to create, learn and have fun. Throughout the morning I will teach you how to make an animal sculpture, such as a hedgehog, mouse, owl, frog, squirrel or any other small animal, using traditional hand building techniques. No experience necessary.
All materials and equipment will be provided. Tea and Coffee will be available throughout the morning. The only thing you need to bring is an apron and wear old clothes if possible.
After the workshop, I will carefully take your sculpture home and fire it in my kiln. These sculptures are not glazed as the terracotta will age beautifully in your garden over time. Your sculpture will be ready to collect approximately 6 weeks after the workshop from the Walronds. I will let you know the date and time.
