This event consists of short walk through Houston Meadow to an area where will we wait to observe displaying American Woodcocks. Also called "timberdoodles" Ameerican Woodcocks are a nocutournal sandpiper of woodlands and forest edge. Males fly up over open areas and use structures on their wing feathers to emit a twittering noise as they sprial down. Mid March is the peak of their displaying season in our region.
We access the trail to Houston Meadow via Houston Playground, meet at the park sign near the basketball court bleachers of Houston Playground
