About this Event
Explore Scandinavian carving styles through an understanding of wood, tool techniques, sharpening and honing, and more. All skill level are welcome. Beginners start with a project that teaches basic carving techniques.
Students can choose from a range of projects. The styles vary from karveskurd (chip carving) and flatskurd (low relief) to elaborate acanthus (leaf groupings).
The class meets Sunday mornings at 1749 Dexter Avenue North in Seattle. This is an ongoing class series and we give personalized instruction to each individual. We recommend two classes to have enough time to complete a project.
The class is held in a building owned by the Swedish Club. See the street view images below that show the exterior of the building at 1749 Dexter Avenue North, and its relation to the Swedish Club main building across the street.
