This class is an introductory class to the woodturning lathe. This class will go over the lathe, attachments, tool options, how and when to use them, safety, and the anatomy of the tool itself. You will leave knowing how to operate a lathe safely, and be completely ready to take a more in depth class, or buy your own and start turning at home! All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions Apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases. Each student should carefully consider their health and reaction to products around them when signing up for this or any of the Rockler woodworking classes. Considering a 1-on-1 private Instruction?
