A stimulating lecture-demo exploring the connections between Carnatic classical music and Vedic mantras as a sacred pathway to the divine.
About this Event

Join us for an intriguing examination of the ways Carnatic music composers have explored spirituality through their musical compositions, particularly in their pursuit of moksha (liberation). Presenter Sitaram Ayyagari will use live vocal examples to demonstrate and examine the similarities between Vedic mantras and Carnatic classical music as a sacred pathway to invoke devatas (deities) and immerse oneself in divine bliss.

About the Speaker
Sri Ayyagari Sitaram garu is a Krishna Yajurvedi with training in Sanskrutam, Carnatic Music, and Jyotishya Sastram. He is a prolific writer and a speaker on various aspects of Veda mantras, Puranas and Itihasas. He founded "Sri Sarada School of Music - Houston" and has been training students in Carnatic Classical Music for a little over 15 years. He is the author of a book "The Science of Arunaprasna" which explains the science behind the Arunaprasna mantras, which are part of Krishna Yajurveda aaranyakam. By profession he is an IT engineer, working in the Oil & Gas industry, and is based in Houston, TX. He is an executive member for IHAR-USA.
